The first time both of these strangers enter the cave, they find itself empty. After searching the rest of the cave, they find that the cave has been destroyed. The second time, however, they find themselves in a cave that has been there for a hundred years.
I think this may be the first time in recent history that a cave in the Alps was left empty. I mean, that is quite unusual. In the old days, a cave was filled with corpses; a cave was filled with treasure. Today, a cave is left empty so that the inhabitants of the cave can return to their own times.
The cave they are in is one of the tallest in the Alps, and I don’t think you can actually reach the top of it. Still, I would get very scared if I had to climb that thing.
